Short description

This VDI Expert Recommendation deals specifically with water as a contaminant in cleanrooms. The VDI Expert Recommendation provides guidance on creating areas with dew points of no more than 0 °C. The tightness of the enclosure surfaces and duct systems is particularly important in such rooms, as removing infiltrating moisture from the controlled area requires a high amount of energy. This has an impact on fire protection and smoke extraction concepts, personnel and material flow, and other aspects of the planning and operation of dry cleanrooms and dry clean areas. This VDI Expert Recommendation does not deal with the manufacturing process and other activities that take place in the dry cleanroom, but with the achievement of the necessary climatic conditions.
