This document specifies animal welfare requirements for livestock farming in relation to the main agricultural use in the field of agrivoltaic systems. It sets out requirements for planning, operation, documentation, and operational monitoring, as well as key performance indicators for the quality assurance testing procedure. Requirements for the main agricultural use (livestock farming) for grassland and other agricultural land include, for example, light intensity and light distribution under the PV system, the degree of adaptation of the agrivoltaic systems to the needs of the respective animal husbandry practices and animal species or crops for fodder production, the stocking density of the area with livestock, the influence of PV on microclimatic changes, and the protection of the system from damage by livestock. Wherever reference is made to electrical parameters such as specific yield or performance ratio (PR), the existing standards from the PV sector of IEC/TC 82/DKE/K 373 are used. The same applies to specifications for electrical installation (construction). This document will expressly not carry out any standardization in the field of classic ground-mounted photovoltaic systems (PV-FFA), as corresponding standards already exist for this purpose. In addition, the requirements for agrivoltaic systems are based on DIN SPEC 91434:2021-05. This DIN SPEC has been prepared in accordance with the PAS procedure. DIN SPECs are developed in accordance with the PAS procedure in DIN SPEC consortia and do not necessarily involve all interested parties.
