Overview

This International Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the design, operation and installation of cable over pulley steering systems on sailing vessels with a hull length of up to 24 m, with or without an auxiliary motor. This International Standard contains requirements for the design and construction of all components of a control system from the steering wheel to the quadrant. It applies only to cable over pulley steering systems, whether for pedestal or bulkhead types. The design and technical details of the rudder blade are left to the discretion of the designer. It is assumed that they are adapted to the size and speed of the boat.
