Overview

This standard specifies the characteristics of, and corresponding test methods for, unalloyed titanium for use in the manufacture of surgical implants. Provision is made for six grades of titanium based on tensile strength. The International Standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 150/SC 1/WG 3 "Mechanical testing" (secretariat: ANSI, USA) in collaboration with CEN/TC 55 "Dentistry" (secretariat: DIN). The responsible committee at DIN is NA 014-00-21 AA "Dentalimplantate" ("Dental implants") of NADENT.
