Overview
This document deals with the safety of electric appliances for the care of skin or hair of persons or animals and intended for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. This standard recognizes the internationally accepted level of protection against hazards such as electrical, mechanical, and thermal hazards, as well as fire and radiation hazards from electrical equipment that is operated properly in accordance with the instructions for use. It also covers unusual situations that are nevertheless to be expected in practice and takes into account the way in which electromagnetic phenomena can affect the safe operation of appliances. This standard does not apply to hair combs, styling irons, and hair straighteners.
This document replaces DIN EN 60335-2-23:2015-06; VDE 0700-23:2015-06 .
