Overview
This standard specifies combinations of different degrees of protection for cabinet systems regarding IP code, climate levels, static and dynamics load tests, electromagnetic shielding and seismic requirements. This design guide enables easy selection of defined performance levels for optimization of the efficiency in that cabinets with properties tailored specifically to their area of application can be ordered. In contrast, it shall be possible for the manufacturers of such modular cabinet systems to provide the logistics required for the supply of kits, independent of where the final assembly can take place. The responsible committee is DKE/K 662 "Bauweisen" ("Structures") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
