Overview
This standard applies to sanders and polishers with the exception of all types of rotating disk-type sanders, which are covered by EN 60745-2-3. Examples of electric tools covered by this standard include, but are not limited to, belt sanders, sanders or polishers with linear or circular oscillatory motion and random orbital sanders or planetary polishers. The following changes have been made with respect to DIN EN 60745-2-4 (VDE 0740-2-4):2010-05: a) 6.2.6.3 has been adapted to the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC; b) Tables Z101 and Z102 have been revised. The responsible committee is K 514 "Elektrowerkzeuge" ("Electric tools") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
