The DIN EN 3660 series of standards describes the properties of cable outlet accessories for circular and rectangular electrical and optical connectors for use in the aerospace industry. The standard DIN EN 3660-031 defines a range of cable outlets, style K, straight, shielded, sealed for heat shrinkable boot, for use with memory metal rings under the following conditions. The mating connectors are listed in EN 3660-002. The cable outlets can be used in the following temperature ranges: Class N (-65 °C to 200 °C), Class K (-65 °C to 200 °C), Class W (-65 °C to 175 °C), Class T (-65 °C to 175 °C [Nickel PTFE plating]) and Class Z (-65 °C to 175 °C [Zinc Nickel plating]). The associated electrical accessories can be found in EN 3660-034 "Memory metal rings (for shield termination backshells)". These cable outlets are designed for termination of overall shielding braid or individual cable shields. They accommodate/permit the termination of heat shrinkable boots. The standards of the EN 3660 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the Associated Organization (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 3 October 1986. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical Connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
