1.1 This specification covers requirements and classifications for positioning assurance, navigation, and time synchronization for unmanned aircraft systems. 1.2 This specification may support UAS-specific traffic management functions. This specification does not apply to operations that are under positive air traffic control (ATC). 1.3 The requirements and framework defined in this specification are not application- or solution-specific and may be applied to unmanned aircraft system traffic management (UTM), remote identification, other third party services, vehicle-to-vehicle communications, vendor-operator contracts, or other use cases. 1.4 This specification applies to both airworthiness and operational domains. Meeting the performance and other requirements may be by design, operational, or other means. 1.5 Units- The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. Any values given in parentheses after SI units are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.6 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
